This weekend is an important one because of the upcoming primary. Here are some of the events being organized by OFA:
1. A Neighborhood Team Leader of the campaign will be hosting a house party for anyone that lives in Precinct 7. This event is on Saturday, January 28th starting at 5 PM.

2. On the night of the primary, Tuesday, January 31st, OFA will be hosting a Phone Bank at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (2510 NW 6th Street). This union hall is on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. This event starts at 5 p.m.

3. We will also be hosting a Voter Registration Training at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers that starts at 7 PM on Tuesday, January 31st.

Turning out for this election is super-critical since the Republican primary will turn out Republicans in force. Let’s keep our City Commission blue, especially important since the governor is seeing fit to replace a Democrat with a Republican on our County Commission.

Don’t worry. Despite the most brutal budget cuts in state history, the taxpayers of Florida still have millions set aside for their epic battle against the taxpayers of Florida.
Both houses of the Florida Legislature managed to find plenty of money — also known as your money — for the slush funds underwriting their costly lawsuit against the Fair Districts amendments. (more…)
